More on HFCS

I found out what I wanted to know.
High fructose corn-syrup, a type of sugar that causes particularly huge spikes in blood sugar, making users more likely to overeat and become diabetic, is used in Canada.

However, it is not listed as high fructose corn syrup, making it difficult for people to avoid. It masquerades under the names: glucose syrup, fructose syrup, glucose-fructose or fructose-glucose.

This is in soft drinks, fruit "beverages", "cocktails" and nectars, as well as, I found out the other day, bread.

If anyone wants to know more about why you and your children should avoid products with HFCS, read The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood : Ten Ways to Get Your Family on the Right Nutritional Track.

Then tell me I'm obsessing.
