I told the girls they could watch TV this morning, but they had to agree on a dvd or video. At first they argued back and forth: "I want Barney!" "No!" "I want Tigger!" "No!" and then Taryn got wise. She got out the four disc Looney Tunes pack, carefully spread it open and asked Ashlin which one she wanted. Ashlin chose and they watched happily.

Giving a choice between acceptable alternatives - that's a trick I didn't learn until my 20s. What a smart kid.
