The other day I was returning to my office from an appointment and came across a little girl crying. It's rarely apparent if kids around there have a caregiver around, so I stopped and asked where her Mom and Dad are. She told me, "My dad went drinking." So young to have to deal with that reality. She was okay, her Mom was within eyeshot. But I am sad at what so many children must face.
