Forgive me, I’m not passing judgements- me least of all, nor casting aspersions on anyone’s character- I can’t afford to :).
I would completely agree with some of these folks- darkness, glorification of evil etc. if it weren’t for one or two niggly little points.
When was the last time anyone saw a Druid? Haven’t seen any “Druid Crossing” signs in my travels, no “Druids eat free” offers at Perkins. I don’t see any meaningful connective tissue between what allegedly occurred hundreds of years ago on another land mass and what we North Americans do on Oct.31st today. There is nothing in scripture, that I can see anyway, telling of sinister spiritual activity being powered or otherwise influenced by the joy and fellowship enjoyed on this day by those to whom the
I’m seeing a lot of, forgive me, silly comparisons being drawn by albeit well-meaning folks between what we in
IMHO Yvonne made the only right choice, not because dressing up and collecting candy, or scary masks bother God, but because she was “not fully convinced” in her heart and mind. But for folks to go from this right, good decision and springboard into telling me I’m participating in pagan practices by dressing up my girls as two bunches of purple, juicy grapes and letting them collect goodies after we have a bonding time in carving a carefully chosen and rotund member of the squash family…well, maybe we need to put down the Neil Anderson book, go for a walk and get a little fresh air.
For those choosing the Kosher plate and do so to the Lord, more power to ya’- for me and mine, in the Lord, pass the pork chops and hold the yoke.
