Y'know what I appreciate about the British? They don't beat a dead horse. They form a new sitcom, they do what? An average of 6 episodes? That's it, on to something else. Not so in USA. This occurred to me while my children watched "The new adventures of winnie the pooh" (Theme song: Pooh bear, winnie the Pooh bear/a major marketing tool/ Pooh bear, winnie the Pooh bear/ We're taking you all for fools). Why are they taking Milne's classic characters and running with them ad naseum? Can't they think of something new?

That's what I appreciated about some of the comics, like Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County and The Far Side. They came to a natural end and they stopped. I didn't want them to stop, but I respect it. The comics that acquire new writers and artists (seems to be the majority in the Free Press: Shoe, Hi and Lois, Dennis the Menace, etc.) are all lame and unimaginative.
