Movie reviews
Robbie and I love our movies. Haven't been to a theatre in a long, long time. For the price of 1st run tickets plus snackies we can buy a DVD, which we usually do, or go with Video on Demand if we suspect it's a once only (also haven't been to Blockbuster in years).
Anywho, here's my 2 cents worth on what we've seen lately.
Napolean Dynamite
I was hoping for a movie that would cause a need-to-hit-the-pause-button-to-finish-laughing-moment at least once, and we got that. I liked it, but I didn't love it, although I suspect it will seem even funnier the next times we see it. Robbie claims not to like it as much, but then does perfect Napoleon impressions for the next 2 days.
The World's Fastest Indian
Very interesting flick - based on a true story of a New Zealander who wanted to break the land-speed record and came to the United States with his motorcycle to try. I liked it because it didn't have a typical Hollywood feel. Rather than single man rages against an entire world against him, it was a story that showed realistic set-backs and how one man makes it with the help of many others. I found I kept bracing myself for the usual everything falls apart plot line, but I suspect they stayed fairly true to the real story. This one I recommend.
The Lord of the Rings - all 3 movie extended DVDs
We worked our way (Rob for the 2nd time, me for the 1st) through all the extended DVDs, including all the bonus material. The bonus material gave me the information I needed to help me appreciate the artistry of the movie in all its forms. And the extended story was great, much better than what appeared in theatres. I loved it, I might even read the books again.
Office Space
The trailer looked like it had potential, a movie with a Dilbert feel, but it started falling down after the first 20 minutes. Some laugh out loud moments, interesting characters, but quite predictable. It was okay. Glad we didn't buy it.

I LOVE that you blog. There are so many great thoughts coming out of your head.
Hey Jude, have you seen "At the end of the Spear"? I'd love to hear you review that one. I loved it and it changed me.
I hadn't even heard of it. I just looked it up and realized that it's about the Elliot/Saint story. That could be quite interesting. I'm a bit concerned about the violence, but it is PG-13
